MADELIA, Minn. — The southwest Minnesota meat-packing company Tony Downs recalled 96,000 pounds of chicken products — that’s 48 tons — that federal inspectors say may be contaminated with extraneous materials. The recall is of thermally processed chunk chicken breast items in:

> 12.5-ounce cans under the brand name Members Mark.

> 50-ounce cans, also under the brand name Members Mark.

The items were shipped to retail stores nationwide from the Tony Downs packing house in Madelia. The problem was discovered after consumer complaints. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions, the U.S. Agriculture Department said.
