FORADA, Minn. – A federal meteorological field team confirmed an EF-2 tornado with speeds of 120 mph caused extensive damage south of Alexandria. Damage was heaviest in lakeside Forada, popuation 170. Houses, cabins and other buildings were damaged or destroyed. No injuries were reported. The tornado ripped a path of more than a mile long and half a mile wide. The tornado was among several Tuesday in west and southwest Minnesota. One tornado left a 60-mile track in four counties between Appleton and Glenwood. There were major power outages eastward into western Minnesota from South Dakota.
