WINONA, Minn. – Governor Tim Walz said that the schedule for CoVid vaccines to Minnesota has stabilized and that vaccinations can begin Tuesday for previously lower-priority individuals as young as 16. “The federal government has been able to give a little bit more of an allotment, and now we are going to see next week an even bigger allotment,” Walz said. The state is in a race against the virus variants that could reverse progress against infections, Walz said.  “We have to outrun those variants. We have to stop the spread that’s out there. And Minnesota is one of the states that’s gaining. But the good news is we are countering it with an aggressive vaccine effort,” he said.

Walz to younger set: “There are no barriers, there’s no cost, you don’t have to answer the questions about this. I just want to make sure that you understand when you get the vaccine, not only are you protecting yourself, you’re protecting that roommate, you’re protecting your family, and you’re protecting that person who might inadvertently get the virus through asymptomatic spread.”
