MINNEAPOLIS – A man who admitted to five sexual assaults, mostly near the University of Minnesota, was sentenced to 550 months in prison. Jory Wiebrand, 35, from the northern St. Paul exurb of Ham Lake, originally was charged with raping 14 women. Most charges were dropped in plea bargaining. The cases to which Wiebrand pleaded guilty:
> March 23, 2015. A woman as she was cleaning snow off her car.
> February 25, 2018. A woman in her yard after she came home from a convenience store.
> August 4, 2018. A woman as she entered her home. She was robbed too.
> February 8, 2019. A woman on her way to a bus stop.
> August 7, 2019. A woman after she got out of the shower at her home.

Wiebrand. Four survivors told the court about emotional and physical trauma from the violent assaults. Wiebrand responded that he was sorry.
