ROCHESTER, Minn. – A parent went to television station KTTC with documents that appear to show that School Superintendent Michael Muñoz has a history of plagiarism. The new allegations follow a plagiary accusation in a letter to staff last fall. Muñoz acknowledged that lapse. The School Board reprimanded him and docked his pay five days. The new allegations:
> A 2019 graduation address, with passages similar to another superintendent’s speech in Reading, Massachusetts.
> A 2020 graduation address, with unattributed passages akin to a letter sent home to parents by a superintendent in Langley, Washington.
> A2020 letter to graduating seniors, with several paragraphs from letters by four other educators from across the country.
> A 2020 tweet, nearly identical to one from a principal in Birmingham, Alabama, about teaching and learning through a pandemic.
