CHATFIELD, Minn. – A Rochester motorcyclist died instantly when he collided with another vehicle just north of Chatfield about 9:50 p.m. Killed was Rick Jay Hutton, 36. He was southbound on U.S. Highway 52 into Chatfield. He was not wearing a helmet, police said. The other vehicle, headed the opposite direction, was driven by Nicholas Allan Sprau, 57, of Chatfield, with Virgene Lynn Sprau, 55, also of Chatfield, a passenger. The Spraus were unhurt. They were in a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. The collision was head-on.
