WINONA, Minn. – Mid West Music Fest. which was conceived in 2011 as multi-venue, multi-genre and multi-day extravaganza, sometimes with 100-plus acts, has generated more than $2 million in the Winona and LaCrosse economies over the years. Fest organizers said the estimate is from a study by Winona State University economists. Last year with the pandemic raging, the Fest reinvented itself online with 50 virtual acts over two days featuring health, wellness, and kids programming. The economic stimulus skipped a beat, of course. The festival, which is a non-profit organization, seeks a rebirth this year, again with up-and-coming local, regional, and national musicians.
Now in 11th year. First in Winona, then also LaCrosse.
