SPARTA, Wis. –The Sparta School Board named its high school principal, Sam Russ, as superintendent. Russ had been serving as interim superintendent since the unpleasant departure of Amy Van Deuren amid harassment allegations, which she denied. Russ had been the high school principal since 2008.
