WINONA, Minn. – The City Council reduced the speed limit on Lake Park Drive from 30 mph to 20 mph. The decision, which was unanimous, follows citizen complaints about speeders and a study that clocked a few motorists at 60 mph. Council member Steve Young, who represents Ward 1 on the West End, said the change may also reduce traffic through Lake Park. He noted that Lake Drive has become a shortcut to and from downtown to avoid the often-congested Huff and Sarnia intersection.
