WINONA, Minn. – The Winona Daily News hired a second news reporter, Carson Babbini, a recent University of Minnesota graduate. Bambini joined Rachel Mergen, who has been wearing two hats as the paper’s only reporter and also photographer. Babbini, a Northfield native, studied communication in college and interned at the Minnetonka-based Cargill global food purveyor. He aspires to a career as a play-by-play sportscaster.
