WINONA Minn. – Minneapolis hip-hopper Matt Allen, known on stage as Nur-D, will be among 14 acts at Mid West Mus Fest’s one-day venue at Prairie Island in June. The main hullabaloo starts at 4 p.m. on May 15. The line-up, announced by the fest’s creative director, Parker Forsell, also includes:
> Von Tramps. Surf-punk rappers.
>People Brothers Band. Madison-based perennials on regional circuits.
>Doug Boodle with Jonathan Blakk. Jazz and hip-hop group.
>Queen Drea. The multi-layer looping hip-hopper.
> Immaculate Beings. Minneapolis indie-rockers.
> Ultrasound. English indie band.

Nur-D. Calls himself weird for eclectic vocals that heroize comics, professional wrestling, video games, ’80s hair, and metal bands. His insirations: Gospel music Andre 3000, Childish Gambino, Jaden Smith, Chance the Rapper, Fred Hammond, and Jacob Collier. The latest Nur-D album, with 11 cyts, is “38th and Chicago.” The album takes its name from the Minneapolis intersection where George Floyd was killed.
