ROCHESTER, Minn. – Hiphop performer NUR-D will open the 31st year of the Down by the Riverside free concert series in Rochester. NUR-D is at Mayo Park downtown July 10. He’ll be at 8 p.m. after an opening band plays at 7. Bring a blanket. Successive performances, all on Sundays, will be  he same times.  The lineup:

> July 10: NUR-D, hip-hopper from Twin Cities.

> July 17: Brittney Spencer, Nashville country.

> July 24: Mavis Staples, octogenarian civil rights activist, rhythm and blues.

> July 31: John Waite of the duo White Stripes. classic rock.

> August 7: En Vogue, Oakland-based, 1990s rhythm and blues.

> August 14: Jason Bonham, with a tribute to his father, Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham.

NUR-D is hiphop. Other summer genres represented: Country, R&B, classic rock.
