DULUTH, Minn.—A 180-pound black bear decided to saunter one last time through a backyard en route to its winter hibernation den when a 3-1/2 pound chihuahua decided to be a watchdog. The chihuahua spotted Bjorn outside through a glass patio door and began yapping up a storm. The bear stopped and turned and stared — perhaps amused or maybe irritated, he didn’t say. Then he rose on his its hind legs and pawed at the glass, which luckily held. Undeterred, Juanita kept yapping. Soon bored, Bjorn wandered on. This is the end of the story. Isn’t news fun?

Will they meet again? Perhaps in the spring.
