ROCHESTER, Minn. — The expanded presence of police at the Olmsted County Fair prevented a repeat of last year’s juvenile hooliganism and fighting, according to Scott Schneider, Fair president. Schneider also credited a decision to hire more teenagers as Fair workers. “For a lot a lot of these kids, it was the first job they ever had,” he said. “They were being parking attendants and worked hard, did great, and they’re going to feel good about themselves.” Schneider said that fair attendance was up although he didn’t have a final tally.
