MINNEAPOLIS — Congress member Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., is cutting ties with her husband’s consulting firm, which managed her re-election campaign this year. She paid the firm, E Street Group, more than $1.1 million for advertising and consulting from July through September. The arrangement raised eyebrows. Omar has said the transactions were legitimate. Despite a complaint to the Federal Election Commission the agency has took no action. Even so, said Omar, she wants to ensure that her supporters don’t perceive an issue in the future. It was in March that Omar and E Street Group’s Tim Mynett were married.
