MANKATO, Minn.  — The driver of a semi died after his rig left a highway and crashed into a hotel. The Minnesota State Patrol said Larry Tiede, 64, of Waseca, was eastbound when the truck, a 2005 Freightliner,  veered off Highway 14, ran down a slope, crossed Raintree Road, and rammed into the pillars outside the River Hill hotel’s entrance. No one at the hotel was injured. The accident was about 4:30 p.m.
