WINONA, Minn. – An off-duty Winona firefighter was the right guy in the right place at the right time. Driving down a West End street, he spotted a flames in an attached residential garage. He grabbed a fire extinguisher and kept the flames in check until an on-duty fire crew arrived. This was about 7:20 a.m. at 620 West Fifth. No one was injured.
