OWATONNA, Minn. – A police officer stopped a car whose driver license he knew had been suspended. Then, said the officer, the occupants made suspicious movements into the center console as he approached. Then the driver and the passenger offered conflicting accounts of their recent whereabouts. The officer called in Vegas, the Owatonna Police Department K-9, who sensed narcotics. A search found 3.7 grams of meth and 2.2 grams of marijuana. Arrested was Sam Bolton, 21, of Owatonna, who had been arrested also the night before for suspicion of driving under the influence. Also, both Bolton and his companion were on probation for drug offenses.
