WINONA, Minn. – The spring prom is returning at Winona High on Saturday, albeit with Covid-conscious provisions including face masks. Faculty advisers Tanya Corcoran and Casey Indra said the prom mostly will follow tradition — a semi-formal event beginning with a grand march. Students have been part of the planning. “From the beginning, we wanted to make sure that our students had a voice in planning this event,” Indra said. “They are excited to have the opportunity after it had to be canceled last year.” Participation is limited to juniors and seniors and Learning Center students. Masks may be removed only for formal photos during the grand march. Students will have color-coded wristbands for groups of six. Outside their group, social-distancing will be enforced.
