WINONA, Minn. – A winter double-whammy has hit southeast Minnesota and adjoining Iowa and Wisconsin. Heavy wet now slickened roads Thursday. When skies cleared came an arctic front with the coldest air of the season. Forecasters said wind chills will be dangerously cold, especially Sunday night into Monday morning. The cold will remain well into next week with bitterly cold wind chills possible each night into the morning hours. The snowfall Thursday was mostly three to six inches.
