RUSHFORD, Minn. — Electricity companies and co-ops throughout southeast Minnesota, including MiEnergy, asked users to minimize afternoon consumption. Extraordinary demand was expected due to the heat spell. In peak periods the companies are charged premium rates by their suppliers, which then is reflected in billing to customers. The peak: 2 to 6 p.m.
