LACROSSE, Wis. – A Delta Airlines plane en route to Minneapolis from Fort Wayne, Indiana, made an emergency landing at the LaCrosse airport after a cockpit warning gauge indicated a pressurization problem. The landing, about 9:30 a.m., was uneventful. Passengers disemarked, their luggage was unloaded, and Delta’s LaCrosse ground crew arranged new routing. The plane, meanwhile, remained on the L:aCrosse tarmac until mechanics could be flown in to check whether there actually was a pressurization issue. The plane was over Black River Falls when the pilot turned it around for LaCrosse and descended rapidly. The plane, for Flight 4240, was a Canadair regional jet on a routine 500-mile 114-minute flight.

Grounded for check-up. The 50-passenger Canadair regional jet was operated by Delta partner SkyWest.
