WINONA, Minn. – A cultural enrichment project built on immigrant roots has been launched by Winona-based Project Fine. The city’s creative laureate, Sarah Johnson, said the project begins with a story-telling workshop at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the history museum on Johnson Street downtown.  The workshop, Johnson said, will explore:

> Story-telling as a cultural value.

> How to craft detailed, compelling stories.

> Oral storytelling tips.

This long-term goal is to collect stories of cultural threads that create the “Fabric of Winona” from native peoples to Polish ancestry to recent immigrants, Johnson said.  The project is funded by the Minnesota State Arts Board.
