MINNEAPOLIS — A thousand people, many holding Black Lives Matter signs, gathered peacefully but vocally to protest the death of Somali-American Dolal Idd in a police shootout Thursday.Protesters demanded more details about the shooting, in which police poured bullets into Idd’s car outside a south Minneapolis gas station. They wanted to see more police bodycam video than a single 27-second clip released by authorities. There were questions whether police could have de-escalated the confrontation. Protesters repeated a charge by Idd’s father that the family was maltreated in a raid on the family’s house in suburban Eden Prairie  immediately after the shootout.
