WINONA, Minn. – Carreen “Cookie” Dureske, 81, of Winona, who operated Jeraco’s root beer stand in Wabasha, died at Watkins Manor in Winona. In her younger days she worked as a bartender and waitress. She also worked at Winona Knitting Mills. In retirement she drove a school bus, made sandwiches at Subway, and was executive secretary at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha. She volunteered at St. Elizabeth’s in Wabasha.
