RUSHFORD, Minn. — Helen Harriet Mehus, 86, of Rushford. who taught first grade for 25 years in Rushford, died at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. Earlier she taught in Grand Island, Nebraska, and Fairmont and Kasson-Mantorville schools in Minnesota. She was a 1953 graduate of Blooming Prairie High School and earned a teaching degree from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska, in1955. In 1969 she received her bachelor’s degree in education from Winona State University. She belonged to the Rushford Lutheran Church, , and was involved in the Federated Club, Red Hat Club, and the Eastern Star. She was a volunteer for Winona Area Hospice and Meals on Wheels.
