WINONA, Minn. – Margaret Jean Safranek, 92, who with her husband operated the Safranne Kennel, died peacefully at Brookdale nursing home. Earlier she was with Southern Bell Telephone. She was an administrative assistant for 19 years at Winona State University. In her 17 years running the kennel, she produced the first miniature poodle obedience trial champions in this part of the country. Her joys included dining at the Hot Fish Shop and dancing at The Oaks.
