WINONA, Minn. – Geneive (Jenny) Francis Burgess Kahl, 96, who helped with her husband’s veterinary practice in their home and later at Kahl Animal Hospital, died at Sugar Loaf nursing home in Winona. She joined the Winona General Hospital Auxiliary in 1952 and remained an active volunteer 67 years until 2019, when she no longer able. Even so, she continued knitting baby caps for newborns and enjoyed seeing new babies out and about town sporting one of her caps. In 2010 she received the Ben and Adith Miller Community Service Award. Shr served on the YWCA board. She volunteered for the Winona Red Cross during the 1964 flood.
