WINONA, Minn. — James William Smith, 67, of Winona, who worked over the years at was employed at TRW, Riverside Electronics, and Benchmark, died. He held a 1975 degree from Winona State University. In the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1992 he was an intelligence voice interceptor and transcriber in Russian, German and Chinese for the National Security Agency. His was a familiar face hobknobbing at local restaurants.
