KELLOGG, Minn. – Kenneth (Kenny) Franklin Pavelka, 81, of Kellogg, who was instrumental in establishing the Heroes Memorial in Kellogg, died after a brief illness. He grew up following his father’s military postings around the world, including Panama, before moving in with his grandparents in rural Kellogg. Kenny graduated in 1959 from Wabasha High School. He farmed with his grandparents before being called up for the Army for duty at Fort Polk, Louisiana. In 1986, started a long career at Lakeside Foods in Plainview as a maintenance supervisor.  He belonged to the Kellogg American Legion.
