WINONA, Minn. – Lawrence Joseph Green, 80, of Winona, the priest for several Episcopalian parishes including St. Paul’s in Winona, died at the Winona hospital. He moved to Winona in 1972 and taught and counseled at the College of St. Teresa and later at Saint Mary’s University. He was director of Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center. He was a court appointed psychological examiner and a consulting psychologist at the federal prison in Rochester. He also maintained a private practice. He was a graduate of St Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville, Missouri; St Louis University; and Seabury-Western Episcopal Seminary. Friends said he was always ready with a funny story or corny joke.
