WINONA, Minn. – Michael Patrick Scanlan, of Winona, who at age 14 had his first and only hole-in-one, at his beloved Lanesboro Golf Club, died at age 67. He graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School in 1972 and was the top golfer in the Coulee Conference. He golfed at many courses nationwide. In addition to golf, he was one of the Scanlan brothers who played high school quarterback. He began his career as a chef in high-end restaurants and landed at the Hooters franchise in 1988 where he spent 33 years. He spent the last 23 years as regional quality control coordinator.
