WINONA, Minn. – Peter Michael Kleinschmidt, 60, of Winona, a surveyor with clients in Buffalo, Houston, Trempealeau and Winona counties for 30 hears, died at Mayo Clinic in Rochester of cancer. He was a 1981 graduate of Lourdes High School in Rochester. He held a business degree from University of St. Thomas. He was a top salesperson for a national audio equipment business in Minneapolis. He earned a master’s degree in education from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and taught a high school computer course in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. In 1992 he joined his father’s Winona land surveying business. He volunteered for cultural and arts organizations. He was active in the Winona gay community.
