HOUSTON, Minn. – Thelma Corrine Morken Johnston, 94, of Houston, a registered nurse who graduated from Mounds-Midway Academy in St. Paul in 1947,.died peacefully at the Gundersen hospital in La Crosse. She grew up on the family farm in Yucatan Valley and attended Badger Country School and Houston High School. She was a military cadet nurse in World War II. Later she worked at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis. She was a nurse several years at Valley View nursing home in Houston.
