INDEPENDENCE, Wis. — A Whitehall man was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 121 east of Independence. Brett M. Hays. 32, Deputies said that Hays was waiting to turn into a driveway when he was struck from behind. He was taken to a hospital. The other driver, Preston T. Martin, 19, of Whitehall, told deputies that looked away from the road briefly and couldn’t stop in time. Martin was not hurt. The collision closed the highway for 40 minutes.
