WINONA, Minn. – Five friends stashed their cell phones and wallets in a backpack on shore before shoving off for a moonlight swim on the Mississippi. The idea: Keep their things dry. When they returned about 1:30 a.m., the backpack was gone. So were their wallets and credit cards. This was at the tenting section of the Prairie Island campground.
