ROLLINGSTONE, Minn.— Sixteen years after the Winona School Board shut down its Rollingstone school for budget reasons, the locals are opening their own. Classes begin September 7 at the Rollingstone Community School for kindergarten through fifth grade. It’s tuition-free. The building is the Winona District’s former elementary school. The new charter school is casting its net wide for students. Transportation will be available for the whole Winona School District. Tony Reisdorfer, the lead teacher, said there will be after-school care program.
