RUSHFORD, Minn. – MiEnergy Cooperative, which services rural customers in counties along the Minnesota-Iowa border, is ready to buy solar energy generated from arrays within its service territory. Brian Krambeer, president, said the co-op will buy nine megawatts from OneEnergy, which has arrays at Rushford Village, Fountain, Lanesboro and Stockton. It’s a 25-year deal, Krambeer said. Combined, the sites will power 1,900 homes. The deal replaces the earlier MI deal to buy power exclusively from Dairyland Power Cooperative of La Crosse. With solar sourcing, Krambeer said, MI will reduce costs.
