WINONA, Minn. – Winona School Board member Jim Schul, a Winona State University education prof, confirmed he will seek re-election in November. His goal, Schul said, is to foster stability in Winona schools while moving ahead. He represents District 4, which covers mostly rural southern areas. Schul was appointed to the board in 2019 after Jeanne Nelson resigned. A few months later he won the seat without a challenger in an election to fill out Nelson’s term. Earlier Schul ran unsuccessfully for an at-large positions on the board. Schul holds a 2009 doctorate from the University of Iowa in school curriculum, educational supervision, and education history.
