MINNEAPOLIS – The man killed in a south Minneapolis shootout with police was a suspected gun dealer, court documents show. An undercover agent had arranged a rendezvous with Dolal Idd to buy a MAC-10 high-capacity pistol. Apparently Idd realized something was wrong but too late. Police closed in on his car. The gunfire exchange ensued. The warrant against Idd, age 23, was premised on an informant’s tip. The warrant, which showed up in court documents, noted that Idd was prohibited from possessing guns because of a 2018 weapons offense. A weapon was recovered at the scene, police said. The warrant also authorized a search of Idd’s father’s house in suburban Eden Prairie. The house, 10 miles from the shooting, was raided immediately the shootout.
