EAST GULL LAKE, Minn. – The majority leader of the State Senate, Paul Gazelka, praised Senator Jerry Relph, who died last week, as a valued colleague loved by many. “For four years he rolled up his sleeves and tackled tough issues for our state” Gazelka said. He called Relph “a dedicated public servant.” Even after losing a bid for reelection in November, Relph was already thinking of ways to have an impact on his community, Gazelka said. Relph died of the coronavirus, which has rippled through Republicans in the Senate since the fall campaigns.
