ST. PAUL, Minn. – The president of the Minnesota Senate, Jeremy Miller, R-Winona, praised the just-passed state construction and repairs bill as a bipartisan success. The $1.9 billion bill, Miller said, “focuses on core infrastructure, roads and bridges, water and sewer upgrades, community economic development, and other critical projects that will create jobs and stimulate our economy.” The bill had been mired in months of partisan wrangling, mostly resistance in Miller’s Republican Senate. Passage came only after Governor Tim Walz convened a fifth special session of the Legislature. Among thousands of projects statewide, two were in Winona.
