WINONA, Minn. – State Senator Jeremy Miller, R-Winona, called Governor Tim Walz’ $52.4 billion state budget proposal too aggressive. “I have serious concerns about the governor’s budget,” Miller said in an interview on radio station KWNO. Walz, a Democrat, proposed tax increases in upper-end taxpayers and corporation to close a revenue gap and to help schools and low-income people recover from pandemic deficits. Miller called the spending increase is unjustified during a time where residents and businesses have been forced to cut back their spending.
