WINONA, Minn. – The Slaggie Family Foundation donated $100,000 to launch a new Habitat for Humanity Aging in Place program. The program is for older adults who cannot home safety updates like widening doorways for walkers and wheelchairs and updating flooring to eliminate trip hazards. Amanda Hedlund, Habitat’s executive director. said 21% Winona citizens are 75 and older with annual incomes less than $15,000.
Slaggie Family Foundation. Steve and Barb Slaggie, whose foundation has $43 million in assets, based mostly on Fastenal growth, distribute typically $4 million to $6 million a year.
