WYATTVILLE, Minn. — Two St. Charles snowmobilers were arrested after a police chase through farm fields and countryside between Wilson and Wyattville. Charged were David Wayne Evenson, 41, and Megan Lelani Cogswell, 36. A deputy sheriff said he saw a snowmobile fail to stop at a stop sign on County Road 12. The deputy, his lights flashing, pursued the snowmobile along the county road and attempted intercept it at a crossing, but the driver turned around, flipped off his lights, and disappeared into the dark. The deputy knew, however, the snowmobile was a green Arctic Cat. Tracking down the snowmobilers wasn’t difficult, he said. The charges:
> Fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.
> Recklessly operating a snowmobile.
> Trespassing on agricultural lands.
> Traveling through a fenced area on a motor vehicle.
Evenson also was charged with driving while under the influence. This was about 7 p.m.

Evenson. At Arctic Cat’s helm. Seventeen miles from home.

Cogswell. Also from St. Charles.
