WINONA, Minn. –A survivor of the 1999 Columbine massacre in Colorado, Craig Scott, will share his life’s lessons with Winona school children and teachers in October. His message, which he carries nationally on speaking tours, is how to channel pain, anger and grief into positive action. At Columbine, Scott was in the school library where 10 of his classmates, including his sister, Rachel, were killed. At the Winona Middle School Scott will offer teacher training and conduct assemblies for students. The series of activities, on October 13, will include a community event at 6:30 p.m. at the school. Scott’s visit is sponsored by Winona Schools, the county attorney, and Hope Harbor ministry for teens.
