MADISON, Wis. – Two recently arrived Afghan refugees were charged in federal court in Madison with violent crimes at the Fort McCoy refugee resettlement camp. The arrests showed up in court documents. There had been no announcement from Fort McCoy, which has limited news media access to the12,000-refugee resettlement operation at the post and carefully controlled news releases. According to court documents, the arrests resulted from an investigation by Army police at Fort McCoy and the FBI. Charged were:
> Bahrullah Noori, 20, accused on three counts sex with a minor, one count of attempted sex with a minor and one count pf using force. If convicted, Noori faces a minimum of 30 years in federal prison and a maximum of life on the use of force charge, and a maximum of 15 years on the other charges.
> Mohammad Haroon Imaad, 32, accused of assaulting his spouse by strangling and suffocating her. Imaad faces a maximum sentence of 10 years.
