WINONA, Minn. – The city Park-Rec Department closed some hiking and biking trails because of soft mud and erosion. Alicia Lano , outdoor recreation coordinator, said Bluffside Park and the Prairie Island dog park are in the worst shape. The trails will be repaired by summer, Lano said. It’s possible, she said, that a huge snowfall followed by a freeze could “magically” restore the trails in the meantime. But as long as it’s spring-like, she said, please stay off the trails.
No hiking. No biking. Some city trails treacherous. Needful of repair.
