WINONA, Minn. – A Spicer man, Zane Pedersen, 32, pleaded guilty to raping a St. Charles woman in 2018. Pedersen had been linked to the crime by DNA evidence. The guilty plea was to a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge. had been indicted last year on a total of 18 felony charges. Investigators said that Pedersen, masked and armed with a handgun, broke into a St. Charles house, awakened the woman in her bedroom, and raped her repeatedly. He threatened to kill the woman and her child, police said. Sentencing was scheduled for February.
