ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Agriculture awarded $5,000 grants to rid three southeast Minnesota sites of noxious weeds. The weeds are harmful to humans and animal health, as well as the environment, public roads and crops. The sites:
> Lewiston to clean up Prairie Trails Park on Sauer Drive south of the wastewater treatment plant.
> Houston County to control of Japanese hops along the Root River.
> Wabasha County Soil and Water Conservation District to control Bohemian knotweed on Hammond Creek.
